Why You Should Spend National Red Wine Day in Cape

There aren’t that many things you can apply the phrase “since the beginning of time” to, but red wine comes pretty close – right down to the Ancient Egyptians, who detailed how to produce wine in their tomb paintings.

If you’re a red wine lover, you probably already know the benefits of drinking it – from lowering cholesterol to improving heart health, thanks to its rich antioxidants. But just in case you needed an additional reason to enjoy a glass (or two), we’ve got it: Aug. 28 is National Red Wine Day.

That means it’s time to start planning a day of celebrating this world-renowned beverage, and the Cape Girardeau region is a great place to make it happen. We’re home to several vineyards and wineries, each of which provides an experience as unique as their wines. We promise you’ll find the perfect one to celebrate National Red Wine Day with.
