3-Stop Hop Series: Broussard’s, Sugar Chic, Riverfront Mural

VisitCape will occasionally bring you a “Three Stop Hop” as a way to offer mini itineraries of three stops around town. If you have ideas for the “Three Stop Hop,” let us know!! The first in this series focuses on a walkable trek around downtown. These are stops you can make with a date, a friend or your family!

The first stop is Cape’s famous Broussard’s Cajun Cuisine! Broussard’s is a family-owned restaurant on Main Street downtown with authentic Cajun recipes from Louisiana. Start off with the Felix Samper featuring gator tails, fried crawfish and clams then tempt your tastebuds with etouffee, jambalaya or shrimp creole. And for those wondering, the port wine and cheese dressing is BACK!

For dessert, stroll down Main Street to Sugar Chic Creamery where they’re scooping up 16 flavors of premium ice cream and eight flavors of non-dairy, soy and Italian ice. Seasonal tastes in the rotation of over 100 flavors and homemade waffle cones are a treat inside this quaint creamery.

Either during or after enjoying your ice cream, make the third stop by taking a walk to the riverfront to see Cape Girardeau’s new mural on the Mississippi River flood wall.

We hope you plan to join us on this “Three Stop Hop” and post pictures on our social media site! To keep up with all Cape has going on, visit the VisitCape Discover Guide!
