Things to do this Fall

It’s finally fall! Football,falling leaves and pumpkin spice take center stage as summer comes to a close.

But what is there to do this fall in Cape? We’ve got a few options to get you started!

TRAILS

Fall is a great time to and breathe in the cooler air. At just over six miles long, the Cape LaCroix Recreation Trail is a paved trail system running throughout Cape Girardeau to walk, run, cycle, rollerblade, skate, or skateboard around the area. In addition to that trail system, the Mississippi Riverfront Park,Capaha Park, and the trail on Bloomfield Road offer many options for those wanting to get outdoors for some exercise or an evening stroll. These trails and parks are perfect for viewing fall colors up and getting outdoors.

FOOTBALL

When fall rolls around,football comes to mind! Cape is home to the Cape Central Tigers but close by are the rival Jackson Indians and at the college level, Southeast Missouri Redhawks are ready to roll!  Let’s get out to enjoy the sport and cheer on some local athletes! For the Redhawks, 2023 is the first season for the new Houck Stadium. FALL FESTIVAL TIME

The Riverfront Fall Festival 2023 takes place Saturday, October 21 from 11am – 6pm at the Riverfront Park and Water Street in downtown Cape. Other than perusing the vendors, there are so many great activities taking place, from yoga and pet costume contests to concerts from Maggie Thorn, Faultline and Ivas John. Not to mention the food trucks! Make a day of it in downtown Cape!
