Taking the Stage this Spring

Calling all patrons of the performing arts, the River Campus’ spring season is well worth pulling out those planners and picking out some time to spend in Cape Girardeau taking in a show!

A Grammy award-winning cowboy quartet showcases their own blend of comedy and music with Riders in the Sky on Friday, January 27th.

The Jazz Festival Gala Concert on Friday, February 3 provides an evening of jazz with saxophonist Jim Pisano headlining the night, rounded out by Southeast’s Studio Jazz Ensemble and the Jazz Lab And.

Dating back to the court of Maximilian I in 1498, the world renowned Vienna Boys Choir will fill Bedell Performance Hall with music on Wednesday, February 8.

The River Campus’ special 10th season production reprises the first River Campus performance of Big River Wednesday, February 22 through Sunday, February 26.  Mark Twain’s classic will sweep you down the mighty Mississippi as Huck Finn helps his friend Jim escape to freedom.

Tony award-winning musical Pippin will take the stage on Friday, March 3; follow the story of an adventure seeking prince and see the realities of royalty.

The River Campus celebrates 10 years of excellence in the arts on Tuesday, March 7 with a choral and orchestral concert that plays tribute to the River Campus.

The Russian National Ballet will dance Romeo and Juliet as well as Carmen on the Bedell stage on Friday, April 21.

Two symphonies come together to present works inspired by great rivers at Great Rivers Symphonies on Monday, April 24.

Shakespeare’s most popular comedy, a Midsummer Night’s Dream, comes to life Wednesday April 26 through Sunday April 30.

Mechanical aspects and acrobatics come together at Cirque Mechanics on Friday, April 28.
