3-Stop Hop: Cape Catfish, Burritoville, and Capaha Park

In this edition of the 3-stop hop, we are taking you to the newly renovated Capaha Park, dinner at BurritoVille, followed by a Cape Catfish game.

Capaha Park recently got some much-needed upgrades and it’s worth revisiting! Located near Southeast Missouri State University at Broadway and West End Boulevard, the park covers over 39 acres with a sidewalk around a large pond, disc golf course, restrooms, and a band shelter. Bring fishing poles for the kids to fish!

When everyone gets hungry, cross Broadway to BurritoVille for some famous “dirty fries” featuring crinkle-cut fries topped with mozzarella, your choice of meat or vegetarian, and house-made queso. YUM! And of course, there are burritos! Unique offerings include a buffalo chicken burrito, a tater skin burrito, and even a dirty fry burrito. Plus, taco salad options for a healthier choice.

Now it’s time for some baseball! Cape is home to the Cape Catfish, a member of the Prospect League, which is described as “teams made up of NCAA college-eligible players, created to bring family-friendly and affordable baseball to communities across the Midwest.” With over 20 home games on their schedule, be sure to catch a few games this summer! With opposing team names like the Normal Cornbelters and Jackson Rockabillys, the atmosphere is set for a good time with food trucks, giveaways, Catfish merchandise, and live music at some games. Stay tuned to their Facebook page for more info!
