Snowy Hike

I love sharing pictures of Cape Girardeau with folks, and I could always use some more snow pictures; especially snowy pictures with the pretty blue sky we had yesterday!  I headed out to capture a wintry Cape Girardeau and ended up at White Oak Trace, my favorite right-in-the-middle-of-town-yet-away-from-it-all spot.  This trail serves up the best of every season, and I find myself smitten with it all over again every time I go.  White Oak Trace is a gravel trail that runs between the Cape LaCroix Recreation Trail and the Cape Girardeau Conservation Nature Center.  Multiple different legs of the trail provide plenty of variety, and clear trail maps and markers ease my directionally challenged mind as I explore.  This trail is hilly and steep in some parts, but the quiet woods and towering trees provide an instant escape.

Take a look at the White Oak Trace Trail Map, and learn more about other hiking opportunities in Cape Girardeau.

What’s your favorite time of year to enjoy Cape Girardeau’s trails?
