Cape Girardeau Conservation Nature Center

Walk through an indoor beaver dam, spot the queen bee in the beehive safely contained behind glass, make tracings of animal prints, watch the animals and much more at the Nature Center.  While there’s lots to do on the grounds of the Nature Center – hiking, fishing in the kids-only pond and much more – there is plenty to do inside on a hot summer’s afternoon!

Discovery Playhouse

This children’s museum has tons of engaging exhibits that will keep your kiddos busy for hours, like the grocery store, Granma Ruth’s Farm and the water garden.  The infant play area is a safe spot for your tiniest to explore while the older kids are completely entertained.

Cape Public Library

Step inside the whimsical children’s department at the Cape Public Library and settle in for a few hour’s worth of air-conditioned fun!  Test out games on the Wii and Xbox systems, kick back in a rocker and snuggle up with a book, try out the puppet theatre or a free program or check out the interactive learning stations; it’s a bright happy space with something to do for all ages.

LeBounce and Orange Monkey

These indoor inflatable bounce house arenas are paradises for active little ones!  They can bounce and play to their heart’s content without getting overheated.  Zip lines, arcade games, slides, paintless paintball and more keep the fun going all day long.  LeBounce is geared for younger ones with an age limit of 10, and Orange Monkey is great for older kids.
