Al Roker Reporting the Weather from Cape Girardeau

Al Roker will report the weather from Cape Girardeau’s Riverfront Park, and you’re invited!  

Roker will broadcast the weather live from Cape Girardeau’s Riverfront Park from 6 – 6:10 a.m. on Tuesday, November 10.  Join in on the fun and welcome Al and the TODAY Show to Cape Girardeau at Riverfront Park. Crowd is asked to be in place at Riverfront Park on Tuesday, November 10 no later than 5:30 a.m., and to enter through the flood gate at Broadway and Water streets.  

Get in the TODAY Show spirit and make a fun sign, and show off your hometown spirit by wearing Southeast Red!  Share the excitement on social media; use #Rokerthon when posting about the event.  Follow along with live updates by following @TODAYshow on Twitter, and tag Cape Girardeau @VisitCape.  

NBC’s TODAY Show is bringing back last-year’s Rokerthon, where Al Roker broadcast a record-breaking 34 straight hours of weather coverage.  This year, he will attempt The Guinness Book of World Records Title for the Fastest Time to Report a Weather Forecast from All 50 States and the District of Columbia, with Cape Girardeau serving as Missouri’s broadcast location.

Rokerthon 2 kicks off in Hawaii Friday, November 6, and wraps up on Rockefeller Plaza on Friday, November 13.  The live broadcast from Cape Girardeau on Tuesday, November 10 will kick off that days’ weather reporting extravaganza that takes Roker and friends to Fort Defiance, IL, Wickliffe, KY, Union City, TN, Blytheville, AR, Goshen, IN, Coldwater, MI and Montpelier, OH.
