Checking goals off your list isn’t a onetime decision. It’s a process – and not an easy one. According to U.S. News, 80 percent of New Year’s resolutions end in failure by mid-February. And if you’re worried about maintaining a healthy lifestyle long term, the New Year’s Resolution Warriors group meets every Thursday at the Osage Centre beginning Jan. 17. This team offers eight weeks of fitness, nutrition education and support as friends work toward goals together. Plus, various Parks and Recreation fitness classes and hiking/biking trails throughout Cape Girardeau keep you on the move all year long.

If you resolved to experience more, there’s an endless list of cool stuff to check out in Cape Girardeau. Whether it’s a concert, museum exhibit or festival, something’s usually happening in town. Or try a dish you’ve never tasted before by visiting a local restaurant. A trip through Cape takes your palate around the world – Japan, Vietnam, Italy, South America. Challenge yourself to not order the same thing twice, and you’ll be a multicultural gourmet by year’s end.

Start expanding your knowledge with a trip to the Cape Girardeau Public Library Not only do they have stacks of books beckoning to be read, they offer book clubs, open mic nights, yoga classes and more. You can also sign up for classes covering a wide range of relevant topics at the Cape Girardeau Career & Technology Center, Southeast Missouri State University’s Continuing Education and the Cape Girardeau Conservation Center.
