Women’s Golf Month

Launched as a PGA industry initiative in 2005, Women’s Golf Month is organized by the LPGA, PGA of America, National Golf Course Owners Association, and the LPGA Amateur Golf Association. The month-long initiative is intended to promote a fun, friendly atmosphere for women to learn and play golf. The goal of Women’s Golf Month is to attract and retain new women to the golf community.

Golf is a sport you can play into the later years of life and with multiple generations at once. It gets us outdoors and if you walk the course, it’s great exercise! It’s an excellent excuse to enjoy company in a competitive environment.

Let’s explore what Cape has to offer for local golf facilities, lessons, leagues and other ways to get involved in golf. Cape has a fantastic public golf course to enjoy both during Women’s Golf Month and every month weather permits.

Cape Jaycee Municipal Golf Course is managed by the City of Cape Girardeau Parks & Rec Department and is open 7am – dusk. With online tee time booking, this 18-hole course is just a click away. The City of Cape offers Private Golf Lessons if you need some swing assistance.

If you’re new to golf or an advanced player, everyone can use a “tune up” from time to time. Check out the Jake Seabaugh Golf Academy, where Jake will guide you through the ins and outs of golf during lessons which take place at the Teehouse Complex. Need clubs? Teehouse is your place. Complete with a state-of-the-art Trackman golf simulator and Toptracer driving range, this place has it all…even a putt putt course! Bring the family for a fun evening at the Teehouse – everyone can take golf lessons

For private clubs, we are fortunate to have two beautiful courses, each with great amenities and various membership packages: Dalhousie Golf Club and Cape Girardeau Country Club.
