Weekend Round Up: June 6th, 7th & 8th

Here are Cape Girardeau weekend happenings to round out your calendar:

The art scene in Cape Girardeau is hopping this evening with the Around Town Artwalk and an Art Auction.

Wil Maring will perform tonight at Tunes at Twilight.  Wil’s beautiful airy vocal style and heartfelt lyrics have raised the eyebrows of the acoustic music world in recent years.

Yum!  Free samples from the cooking and nutrition demo by Katie Urhahn at the Cape Riverfront Market on Saturday morning (8 a.m. – noon), as well as music be Fara McSpadden.  Sign up for the Marketeers club for those ages 5 to 12 – it’s free! – whose next event is June 14th, and get your hands on green beans, peas, radishes, spring onions, strawberries and more spring produce.

Spend some time hiking and testing your nature knowledge at Trail Trivia Saturday morning at the Nature Center!  Pick up your question sheet and return to the Nature Center to check your answers and claim your prize.

Storyteller Chris Everett uses audience participation, puppets and songs to bring Mother Goose and her timeless rhymes to life for a new generation of preschoolers at the Cape Public Library Saturday morning.

Also on Saturday morning at the Cape Public Library, join Dr. Gigglewatt for a “stupefying and semi-accurate telling of his scientifically invented adventures.”  The unique storytelling, magic, juggling and circus stunts will have those ages 6-12 laughing, learning and ready to read.

Live entertainment takes place throughout the weekend at Isle Casino Cape Girardeau.

Enjoy a guided hike to the Bollinger family cemetery at Bollinger Mill State Historic Site during their Spring Cemetery Walk on Saturday afternoon.
