Valentine’s Brunch Spots

There’s something about brunch. It’s not breakfast. It’s not lunch. It’s special! Why not enjoy brunch as a Valentine’s Day treat! We have some options for you.

This year, the holiday falls on a Tuesday. But who says you can’t celebrate the weekend before with a weekend brunch. Either with family or your significant other, what’s not to love?

First up, one for the kiddos and Disney lovers. Storybook Entertainment is hosting a Valentine’s Brunch Makeover on Saturday, February 12 featuring Disney characters. Reservations are required, so act fast! Brunch includes sweet and savory items, mini makeovers, live performances and crafts. Be sure to bring your autograph book! The makeovers include hair, makeup, manicures and pedicures in a Disney-inspired boutique.

Always known for a great brunch is Mary Jane bourbon + smokehouse on Broadway. Start off with coffee cocktails like Irish Coffee (featuring Irish whiskey and house whipped topping) or a Cold Brew White Russian, bottomless mimosas or Bloody Mary variations including a Smokehouse Bloody Mary with smoky whiskey and a meat skewer or the MJ Bloody Mary accompanied by a smoked shrimp.

For your meal, the brunch menu includes local favorites like Grandma’s Boi with two eggs, potato hash, biscuit with Cajun gravy, “trashed” rubs and smoked sausage or Chicken & Waffles with peach syrup.

They do offer an excellent kids menu with selections like a hamburger, grilled cheese or chicken tenders. So bring the kids along…but no breakfast “Shotzzz” (Irish whiskey, butterscotch, orange juice and bacon) for them!

As a more upscale option, try Gabriel’s Food + Wine for an Italian take on brunch classics. Choose from two unique twists on eggs benedict – the Figgy Piggy Benedict and the Crab Cake Benedict or, the frittatas – Godfather Frittata(ham, pancetta and tomatoes) or Mafioso Frittata (mushroom, spinach and broccoli). But not to worry, there’s always pasta – even for brunch! Of course, their list of sparkling wine and cocktails is also ready for a Valentine’s “cheers” at a moment’s notice.

Although it’s not brunch, also worth noting is Gabriel’s Valentine’s weekend cooking class marathon being offered from Friday, February 10 through Tuesday, February 14.
