Mardi Gras, Chocolate + Wine and Valentine’s Day fun galore keep the winter blues from taking hold in February. Here’s what’s coming up in Cape Girardeau this month!

Let the Good Times Roll

Live entertainment, costume contests, authentic Cajun food and more can be found at the Mardi Gras Masquerade Party at Isle Casino Cape Girardeau on February 6.  

A New Orleans Style Brass Band Sidewalk Parade will set Mardi Gras feel on February 17 at the Fat Tuesday Crawl in downtown Cape Girardeau.  

Cajun fun – and beads, of course – plus local wine at Hunter Valley Winery’s Mardi Gras Party February 14. 

On Stage

Tango Buenos Aires sweeps onto the Bedell Performance Hall stage tonight at the River Campus at 7:30 p.m.

Actress, comedienne and singer Vicki Lawrence will fill the Isle Casino Cape Girardeau Event Center with laughs on February 15.

Anna and the King grow to understand and respect one another in a truly unique love story in Rogers & Hammerstein’s The King and I, February 25-28 and March 1 at the River Campus.  

Humanitarian, actor, author, health and wellness ambassador/educator, and philanthropist, Hill Harper will be in Cape Girardeau February 25 as part of Southeast Missouri State University’s Speaker’s Series.  

Miranda Lambert brings her Certified Platinum Tour to the Show Me Center on February 26!  

How Sweet it Is

Groove to the music of Shades of Soul with your special someone at KRCU’s A Little Love & Luck Valentines Day Party, February 13 at Isle Casino Cape Girardeau.  This night out for a good cause includes a buffet dinner, door prizes, an open bar, dancing to Shades of Soul and more.  

Discover one of the forest’s sweetest gifts as you learn about the history, equipment and process of making maple syrup at the Nature Center on February 14.  

Dinner and dancing await at Valentine’s at the Plaza, and music and song from the ’50s, ’60s, big band era and a touch of country will entertain at the Valentine’s Dinner Theatre, both on February 14.

The perfect Valentine’s Day present, A Taste of Chocolate takes place February 21 and 22.  Enjoy fine wine perfectly paired with a decadent chocolate treat at each of the four wineries on the Mississippi River Hills Wine Trail – Hunter Valley Winery, Apple Creek Vineyard and Winery, Hemman Winery and The Barrens Winery.

The life and times of Civil War soldiers and their families is brought to life at Crisp Museum’s Family Day at the Museum on February 14. This free event includes historic fashion, camp displays, firearms, a tea party and hands-on activities.  

Share a night to remember with your daughter at the Frozen Dreams Father Daughter Dance at the Osage Centre on February 21.  Charlie’s Music Revue will be playing all your favorite hits!

“For the first time in forever” the Cape Girardeau Public Library is hosting a sing-along movie night featuring the Academy Award-winning Disney film Frozen. Singing is encouraged, and bring your camera for photo opportunities with a special guest!
