There are events galore in Cape Girardeau this month, both inside and out! 

Markets

Fresh, local produce in every color of the rainbow overflows the tables at Cape Girardeau’s Farmer’s Markets!  The Cape Riverfront Market is rocking and rolling downtown every Saturday from 8 a.m. – noon through the month, and kiddos can participate in the free Marketeers Club on August 8 and August 22.  

The Cape Farmer’s Market can be found behind West Park Mall every Thursday through August; here you’ll find 24 weekly vendors and more seasonal stands.  

On Stage

Mike Walker presents his dinner show at Isle Casino Cape Girardeau tonight, and whether he’s singing his own music or doing impressions of your favorite stars, you’ll be 100% entertained.

Tunes at Twilight gets their fall season going on August 14 with Jack Williams.  Jimmy Davis performs August 21, and the Bottle Rocket Cabaret brings their eclectic sound to the Courthouse Gazebo on August 28.  Bring a lawn chair, picnic blanket and snacks to enjoy these free outdoor concerts! 

Sing along to your favorites at the Absolute Journey Tribute Concert on August 15 at Isle Casino Cape Girardeau, where the band performs Journey’s classic hits to the highest level of musicianship.  

Cape Girardeau Conservation Nature Center

Get to know our backyard river at Nature Center at Night on August 6, complete with hands on displays.

Drop by to visit with the volunteers and staff as they feed the hungry critters at Feeding Frenzy on August 13.  

Watch as hummingbird banders attempt to catch these little gems, gather data, and fit them with an ID band before releasing them at Hummingbird Banding on August 29.

Speaker’s Series

The Cape River Heritage Museum is hosting a speaker’s series on August 1, and the Red House Interpretive Center features one on August 1 and August 8.

Storyteller Sharon Bebout Carr will share folk tales from around the world at the Cape Public Library on August 1.

Stroll downtown and see what’s new in Cape Girardeau’s galleries and shops at First Friday with the Arts on August 7.
