Tee Time

Dust off the old clubs and put on your best pair of plaid pants, it’s time to tee off. National Golf Lovers Day is October 4th and we want you to have the most un-FORE-gettable golf experience in Cape Girardeau.

If you live for the game of golf, you’ll want to get here. We have top-notch golf courses and driving ranges. And don’t worry, if you’re a novice golfer, there’s a mini golf course to unleash your inner Tiger Woods… on a much more ‘miniature’ scale.

Here’s a guide to a weekend golfing in Cape Girardeau just for you.

Start your golfing weekend off at Dalhousie Golf Club. This private club is an 18-hole course, spread out on 7,389 yards with various terrains, posing golf lovers a good challenge. The course is award winning and has hosted major golf tournaments. From being named the #1 Course in Missouri four years in a row, to earning a Rolex Award as one of the “Top 1000 Golf Courses in the World”, Dalhousie is definitely a must see for true golf lovers. In August, Dalhousie was chosen to host the American Junior Golf Association’s Rolex Girls Junior Championship. During that tournament, history was made when Rose Zhang left the four-day tournament with a total of 15-under-par 273 and all three Rolex honors in the same season.
Imagine being able to say you played at a course where that kind of history was made.

After leaving Dalhousie, take a quick trip to a local restaurant to grab a bite to eat. Maybe even sip on an Arnold Palmer if you’re so inclined.

After refueling, make your way to the Tee House Complex so you can get a bit of practice in their driving range. This range is the epitome of technological ingenuity with an excellent golfing experience. TeeHouse utilizes Toptracer Range, a computerized system that gives you accurate distance data on every shot and a shot trajectory. And of course, you can hit the driving range the old-fashioned way too. Stop by the bar area while you’re there. They have many beverages to choose from to enjoy while you play.

Don’t forget to stay at one of our many incredible hotels if you’re coming in from out of town. Whether you want to stay in our lively downtown area with a view of the river or in the heart of the city surrounded by shopping centers and the mall, you’ll have a stay unlike any other.

After getting a good night’s sleep, finish your weekend of play at the Cape Jaycee Municipal Golf Course. This spot is open all year, so you can enjoy a game of golf any season. The course was originally designed as a 9-hole course but, the golfer’s paradise got a facelift and now has 18 holes. With Zoysia Fairways, Bent Grass greens, water features and sand bunkers, you’re in for heck of a game.

Be sure to stop at Pilot House, a local favorite just down the road from the course. While you’re there, try the famous Stag with a pickle, it’s a delicacy there!

We hope that your golfing getaway in Cape Girardeau is tee-rrific!
