Spring Camping Guide!

Finally it’s time go get outside and soak up the outdoors! Lace up those hiking boots or track shoes and hit the local trails. Or, load up in the RV and have a staycation!

Did you know that Cape has excellent RV parks? Have family coming through town? Encourage them to check out this list of amenities!

Cape Camping & RV Park has 90 level pull-thru sites and 12 tent sites. Each site has water, sewer, electric, free satellite TV and wireless Internet! In addition, they have two bath houses, a laundromat, game room, miniature golf, swimming pool, and a two-acre fishing pond all on-site. There is also a recreational center available with seating for up to 120 people.

The Landing Point RV Park features paved roads, large concrete pads and patios, picnic tables and large shade trees. Ice, soda, snacks and firewood is available to all guests.

Rather camp outdoors? Trail of Tears State Park is nearby with two different campgrounds, one with basic amenities offered and one with electric. But remember to reserve your spot! There are so many things to do at Trail of Tears, like hiking, fishing, have a picnic, swimming, etc. Even if you don’t camp, check out the park this spring for some fantastic views of the Mississippi River!

The Cape Girardeau Trail System is made up of miles of walking/biking trails in four different areas with the largest being the LaCroix Trail at just over four miles in length.

We hope this blog encourages you to get out and enjoy the outdoors this spring! Remember to check out the VisitCape Outdoors Guide on our website for even more ideas on how to enjoy the spring season!
