Travel to Never Never Land with Peter Pan: The Musical, opening tonight at the River Campus!

I had a chance to sit in on the final dress rehearsal of the show last night, and had so much fun reliving the story of Peter, Wendy, the Lost Boys and Captain Hook. The full orchestra was something I didn’t expect and added much to the show. The songs were catchy and the show moves quickly, keeping even a little one’s attention throughout the performance.

Peter Pan is such a classic story, and so many have grown up with the Disney animated film…it’s easy to walk into Peter Pan: The Musical with sky-high expectations. When a story is so alive in your mind, seeing it come to life in the hands of such capable cast members who portray their characters so well, is a joy all around.

The technical aspects of the show are spot-on and help bring that fantastical feel to the performance. With Tinker Bell flitting around the nursery, sparkling fairy dust, and Peter Pan soaring through a starry sky, you can’t help but be transported to Never Never Land.

The show is funny, too, and I caught myself laughing out loud at the pirates, the Lost Boys and little Michael!

Peter Pan: The Musical has something that any age would enjoy; bring younger kids, those young at heart, and anyone in between. Don’t delay to get your tickets to see this engaging show, which runs Wednesday February 26-Thursday February 28 and Saturday March 1 at 7:30 p.m.; Friday February 28 at 8 p.m., Saturday March 1 at 2 p.m. and Sunday March 2 at 2 p.m. Details available at RiverCampusEvents.com.
