Take advantage of outdoor fun in Cape Girardeau with your kiddos when the weather is nice with these Family Fun attractions!
Cape Splash Family Aquatic Center
Splash down 5 brand new slides at Cape Splash if you’re feeling adventurous, or kick back on the 700 foot lazy river if you’re feeling not-so-adventurous; Cape Splash has it all, from shaded lounge chairs to splash pads and zero depth entry watery playgrounds for your littlest kids to slides, a vortex pool and concessions for your older ones. Soak up the sun while Cape Splash is still open for the summer! Starting August 13 and running through Labor Day, Cape Splash will be open on a reduced schedule of Saturdays from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Sundays from Noon – 6 p.m.
Melaina’s Magical Playland
Children of all ability levels can play side by side at Melaina’s Magical Playland in Cape County Park North. Your little ones can race up and down the castle turrets, swing and burn off all kinds of energy while you relax in the shade.
Cape Girardeau Conservation Nature Center Fishing Pond & Trails
You probably know all about the amazing facility we have in the Nature Center, with their high quality, hands on exhibits and packed programming schedule – but did you know that there’s an incredible trail system right behind the Nature Center that you can enjoy with your kids? Check out a hiking backpack (it’s free!) and choose from 6 different themes, and hike White Oak Trace while you and your kiddos work through the activities and other fun stuff you’ll find inside. Check out a fishing line and bait (also free!) and watch your little one throw in a line in the specially stocked, kids only fishing pond in front of the Nature Center.
Lazy L Safari Park
Experience over 50 species of exotic animals, including alligators, porcupines, kangaroos, llamas, monkeys, tortoises, zebras and more at this walk through zoo. This family owned park bottle feeds their animals from infancy, so they aren’t shy! Feed the parakeets or the baby goats, ride a camel and more.
