National Creative Ice Cream Flavor Day

Happy National Creative Ice Cream Flavor Day! There are no less than FIVE ice cream related holidays throughout the month of July, and we’ll be celebrating every single one of them. Today we’re talking about creative ice cream flavors!

You can really get creative (and hands on) with your frozen treat at Simply Swirled. Take your pick from over a dozen flavors of frozen yogurt (sample cups help you nail down what flavor is floating your boat) that can also be swirled together for further customization. Past flavors have included Pink Lemonade Sorbet and Toasted Marshmallow Treats. The toppings bar with fruit, cereal, sprinkles and MUCH more let’s you really get crazy. They always have a run down of current flavors on their Facebook page.

Kaleidoscoops has over 80 rotating flavors with 32 for you to choose from. Their flavors are inventive, and include Jacked-up Tennessee Toffee, toffee ice cream laced with a sweet whiskey sauce and broken Heath bars, Lemon Custard and Bubble gum with real pink bubble gum in the mix.

Pick your toppings from a menu of dozens and have the folks at Andy’s Frozen Custard whirl you up a custom concrete, or try one of their unique, seasonal creations, like the Blackberry Concrete and the Cookie Casanova Sundae, complete with creme caramel, roasted almonds and cherries. Your four-legged friends can come along for the ride, Andy’s dishes out mini vanilla cones just for pups! My pups Oscar and Ninja love it!Feeling adventurous? Shogun’s Japanese Steakhouse and Watami Hibachi and Sushi Steakhouse both offer green tea flavored ice cream – its very good and not too sweet.

Next up: National Strawberry Sundae Day on July 7th! Any suggestions for a great strawberry sundae in Cape Girardeau? What’s your favorite creative ice cream flavor?

This is not a comprehensive listing of restaurants that offer ice cream in Cape Girardeau, just a sampling of the spots that have particularly unique selections in honor of National Creative Ice Cream Flavor Day.
