Tell us about yourself

My name is Emily Hagan. I am originally from Cape Girardeau. I moved to a town near Chattanooga, Tennessee for college and loved it, but Cape is where I call home. I have a degree in Public Relations and I love helping people.

What excites you most about your new role with Visit Cape?

I am so excited to be a part of the Visit Cape team! I have had a passion for hospitality from a young age and I feel that I can really nurture that passion here. Also, I love Cape! Getting to support something that you love makes every day a happy one.

What’s your favorite thing to do outside of work?

I love being active! Hiking, going to the gym or a short walk around my neighborhood make me happy. I also love trying out new restaurants and coffee shops. I am a singer, so in my freetime I sing around my apartment and try my hand at song covers. I enjoy playing around with interior design and fashion too!

What’s  your favorite tourist destination in Cape and why?

Choosing my favorite tourist destination in Cape is tricky. I guess I am going to be cliche and say the downtown area as a whole. I LOVE looking at the architecture and art. I feel that someone can really get a sense for the charm of our city when driving or walking around our downtown area.

What’s on your bucket list?

I wish I could say I was a daredevil and had super exciting items on my bucket list, but I am a bit of a scaredy cat. I mostly just want to travel. I would love to visit every state in the U.S. and go to more international locations. I also want to get a Masters degree in Business Administration. My ultimate dream is to see Billy Joel in concert one time and ask him a billion and one questions about his creative process with music.

What’s something you’re looking foward to?

I really look forward to meeting visitors from all over the country and even the world. In the short time I have been here so far, I have met people from all over! It is genuinely so amazing to get to meet people with all kinds of backgrounds and life stories.

We are so excited to have Emily at Visit Cape! Call, stop by, or shoot her an email at [email protected] to say hello!
