Live Like a Local: Farmer’s Markets in Cape Girardeau

Live like a local for a few days in Cape Girardeau with this guide to our river city’s farmer’s markets!

Music fills the air at the Cape Riverfront Market, where vendors are sporting freshly harvested fruits and vegetables that reflect the best of the seasons.  Artisan bread, local honey and crafts are on sale, and food trucks and nearby coffee shops make this a great place to hang out for a while under the shady trees in the heart of historic downtown Cape Girardeau.  The Cape Riverfront Market runs Saturdays from 8 a.m. – Noon through the end of October.

BBQ, lemonade, plants for your garden, baked goods and locally grown fruits and vegetables crowd the tables at the Cape Farmer’s Market, Thursdays from noon-5 p.m. through mid-November in the parking lot of West Park Mall.  Vendors sell out, so get here earlier rather than later!

Book a place to stay with a full kitchen and take full advantage of the produce you picked up with an as-local-as-it-gets meal, and live like a local in Cape Girardeau!
