Holidays in Cape Girardeau: 2019 edition

We always rally for the holidays here in Cape Girardeau and this year’s no different. Here are a few ways you can celebrate the season in Southeast Missouri.

Use nature to inspire your holiday spirit
You can never have too many Christmas decorations. Make your own during Nature’s Décor, an event hosted by the Conservation Center in Cape. Use materials found throughout nature to create custom wreaths, garlands and other Christmas decorations. Bring your own grapevine wreath December 7 and prepare for an hour and a half of crafting fun. Register for the event, and find out more here.

Attend a holiday meet and greet
Surely one new decoration isn’t enough. Load up your sleigh (or car) with all kinds of unique gifts and festive designs during the Downtown Christmas Open House on Friday, December 9 and Saturday, December 10. The whole area will be merry and bright with holiday events and activities for the entire family. Not only will you make delightful winter memories that will last a lifetime, you’ll also have the chance to win a $500 shopping spree! Learn more about this annual event.

 Dine with a legend
Ho! Ho! Ho! Santa will be in Cape Girardeau a couple of times this season, and young ones will have the opportunity to join him for breakfast! Registration is required for this December 14 event. Sign up!

Enjoy a winter stroll
Bask in the beauty of the season during the Candlelit Wood Walk. This free event is from 5-8 on December 20 at the Conservation Nature Center in Cape Girardeau. After wandering through the peaceful grounds, stop by the Center to enjoy a steaming mug guaranteed to warm you up! Find the details here.

Don’t forget to visit the Glenn House for some hot cider or drive through the Holiday of Lights Display in Cape Girardeau County Park! A visit to Cape Girardeau is your ticket to a holly jolly Christmas. Explore all the festive happenings on our event page: VisitCape.com/events
