Holiday Gift Guide: Active Outdoors

If you have some on your holiday shopping list who are all about the “over the river and through the woods” part of the classic Christmas carol, then this is the holiday gift guide for you!

Outfit your favorite hunter or fisher man or woman at Foutz’s Hunting and Fishing.  Camo, boots, camo boots, bright orange hunter safety equipment and thick warm socks to keep your hunter’s toes toasty on frosty mornings will help them enjoy the great outdoors comfortably and safely.  Anglers will appreciate a new collection of fishing lures, a tackle box, a rod and reel or a map detailing fishing hot spots.  The hunting and fishing themed Christmas tree in the store is worth a trip, too!

If you have runners on your Christmas list, head straight to Missouri Running Company.  The runners on my list are picky about their shoes and running apparel, but they LOVE accessories and they’re easy to pick out.  Amphipod reflective gear keeps them safe on dark roads and trails, and a handful of nutritionals rounds out a stocking nicely.  Runners love torture devices like foam rollers, and sports wash keeps their technical running outfits smelling fresh, not funky.

Shop the holiday sale at the Cape Girardeau Conservation Nature Center’s gift shop, December 9-13, when all nature shop items are 20% off!  The best present we ever got my dad was A Paddler’s Guide to Missouri; an updated edition is available for purchase.   Cooking Wild in Missouri or Missouri’s Wild Mushrooms will be a hit with the foodie outdoor enthusiast on your holiday shopping list.

Stay tuned for more Cape Girardeau Holiday Gift Guides to come, including kiddos under 12, teens, four-legged friends and more!

From big box favorites, West Park Mall and locally owned retail shops, Cape Girardeau is sure to have whatever’s on your shopping list!  Check out a full listing of locally owned shops here.
