Haunted walking tours abound with Boos on Broadway and Haunted Downtown Walking tours, both running throughout the month.  Follow the lantern of your costumed guide on a Haunted Downtown Walking Tour and hear “true” tales of ghosts as the darkness of the past envelops you.  Boos on Broadway features chilling tales of haunted opera houses, frightening furniture makers plus murders, mayhem and more! Take a Haunted Downtown Walking Tour October 15, 21, 28 and 29, and check out Boos on Broadway Oct 13 and 26.  (Psst: pre-register for both, they are popular and fill up quickly!)

Settle in for an eery evening with a beautiful and historic backdrop at Halloween Storytelling at Bollinger Mill, October 14.  This free event includes spooky stories from Marilyn Kinsella on the banks of the Whitewater River.

Join us for Cape Girardeau’s first historic, Halloween-themed Instameet! Old Lorimier Cemetery will be open for history-filled, Halloween-themed Instagrams galore. Get to know your local Instagrammers, eat some cookies and capture pictures of Cape Girardeau’s first cemetery on Wednesday, October 26 from 5-6 p.m.

A Halloween classic returns to the Arena Building on Fridays and Saturdays + Halloween night during October!  The Haunted Hall of Horror takes you on a long, dark journey with endless mazes and hallways full of terrifying creatures and disturbing sites.

Black Forest Haunted Ghost Town is celebrating 22 years of fears with their scariest set of Halloween fun yet!  Tour this ghoulish town October 15, 21, 22, 28 and 29.

Set off on a hayride full of ghosts and spooks!  Rocky Holler’s Haunted Hayride is family friendly with a small scare October 14, 15, 21, 22, 28 and 29.

BYOP (Bring your own pumpkin) to the Glenn House on October 30 where you’ll find patterns, tools, paints and everything you need to outfit your pumpkin for Halloween at Pumpkin Palooza!  This free event features spooky science, scary stories and haunted history.
