On the heels of the success of the Muddy River Marathon on May 1, VisitCape is gearing up to host and celebrate several other modes of transportation. We are thrilled to welcome these events and visitors to our community!

First up, Missouri’s ONLY cross-state bicycle ride – Big BAM (Bikes Across Missouri) will pedal through Southeast Missouri for the first time! The tour makes a stop on Tuesday, June 15 at the A.C. Brase Arena between 2:00 and 9:00 pm. Big BAM participants will be sampling local foods and spirits along the way in communities across Missouri! Let’s show them what Cape has to offer!

Next up is an overnight stop for the Great Race 2021 Tuesday, June 22 on Main Street in historic downtown Cape Girardeau. Come cheer on local participants, Kenny Foeste and Ted McClellan driving a 1950 Lincoln! We can’t wait to see our city full of classic cars again! Bring your family downtown to see all the cars and meet the drivers! Check out our blog on The Great Race for more info.

Finally, downtown Cape Girardeau is delighted to host the 2021 Cross Country Chase Grand Finale Saturday, July 10 at 4:00 pm. Riders will have driven an average of 250 miles per day over a 5-day period through fatigue, elevations and the unpredictable elements of mother nature…all on motorcycles manufactured between 1930-1960! And, without support crews of any kind! Come downtown for the finale to celebrate the riders’ journey where we will cheer for and welcome home local riders, Dave Hutson and Chris Sawyer!
