Family in town for Thanksgiving?

Family, football, turkey & pie! Thanksgiving brings the whole crew to town. Show your family the very best of Cape Girardeau this Thanksgiving weekend!

First things first – not much room in the home for overnight guests? Your family has tons of options for places to stay in Cape Girardeau, from hotels to vacation rentals to campgrounds to bed & breakfasts.

Discover how the holidays were celebrated during the Victorian era with Christmas at the Glenn House. Tours take visitors back in time as you walk through gorgeously decorated rooms sure to get you in the holiday spirit – the tour concludes with cookies, coffee, and cider in the Carriage House.

Reserve in advance for a festive dinner theatre with Christmas in 1820 at the Historic Byrd House. Guests will experience an intimate dinner-theater presentation, including a 5 course meal with food true to the era, and storytelling from costumed folks of the early 1800s.

Get a head start on holiday shopping with bargains and sales happening all over town for Black Friday and Small Business Saturday!  Take your family out for a night on the town Saturday, November 29 – there’s a KISS tribute show at Isle Casino Cape Girardeau’s event center.

Wrap up your holiday weekend by watching the annual Parade of Lights on Sunday, November 30. From Capaha Park to Main Street, floats covered in twinkling lights will brighten up Broadway. You might even see some of your favorite holiday characters or catch yourself singing along with the Christmas tunes playing!

The following attractions are also open Thanksgiving weekend:

Bollinger Mill State Historic Site
Cape Girardeau Conservation Nature Center
Cape River Heritage Museum
Discovery Playhouse
Fort D
