Fall Fun!

Fall…leaves changing colors, crisp air, football…a time to get out and enjoy the changing season with fall-inspired drinks, hiking and festivals before winter comes along. Let’s look at FIVE fun fall things to do in Cape!

For those who love the fall season, pumpkin-spiced lattes can’t come fast enough! But Cape’s coffee shops have raised the bar when it comes to fall flavors! Check out The Ground-A-Bout’s fall menu featuring a Harry Potter-inspired Butterbeer Cold Brew or The Wicker Man with mocha, cinnamon and cayenne! Further downtown, Red Banner CoffeeRoasters has a Maple Leaf Latte for coffee lovers and a Golden Chai Latte for the caffeine-free, gluten-free and dairy-free crowd, with turmeric, ginger, citrus and oat milk. Let’s not forget about Socials Cafe & Coffeehouse– they’re ready for fall with their Autumn Harvest Latte, Pumpkin Pie Latte and Chestnut Latte just to name a few. YUM!

While the weather is perfect to get outside and see the foliage, take a drive to the lookout point at the Fort D Historic Site or Cape Rock Park for fantastic Mississippi River views.

Need mums to decorate your porch? Enjoy a Saturday downtown at the Cape Riverfront Market or the Charles Hutson Horticulture Greenhouse located on Southeast Missouri State University’s campus for some of the best around!

This fall, Cape is excited to host the Riverfront Fall Festival to be held on October 22 along the floodwall as a welcome to the autumn season, with crafts, artwork and a variety of kid contests. Fall fun for the whole family!
