Cape’s Golf Guide

August is National Golf Month! Cape’s Golf Guide

As Cape’s only public golf course, the Jaycee Golf Course opened in the 1970s and is available year-round for golfers of all ages. The best part? You can book a tee time online! Whether you play this well-manicured course occasionally or buy a monthly or annual membership to play often, Cape is lucky to have such a great outlet for all golfers. They also offer unlimited twilight golfing at certain times of the year and family Fridays for even more discounts!

Having recently celebrated 100 years, Cape Girardeau Country Club is a historic course showcasing some holes overlooking the Mississippi River with enjoyable and challenging golf for all skill levels. This member-only club boasts a full-service pool and new pickleball courts on property, not to mention banquet facilities and social events for all ages at the newly-decorated clubhouse.

Dalhousie Golf Club, a Jack Nicklaus-designed private national golf club, was ranked as the number one course in Missouri Golf Digest’s 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010 and honored as “Course of Distinction” in Golfweek in 2007 and 2008 among many other awards. The club hosts many tournaments each year, including 10 Missouri Golf Association Championships and five PGA-sanctioned events. Dalhousie is known to be a difficult course, but deep in history, as the property dates back to the 1700s when ancestors of the current owners traveled to Cape Girardeau from Scotland. The Dalhousie Manor is reminiscent of a Scottish castle and certainly worth visiting if you’re an avid golfer!
