The Motorcycle Cannonball Run is a coast-to-coast vintage motorcycle race, and they'll be coming through Cape Girardeau on Tuesday, September 9th!

The Cannonball Run kicks off at Daytona Beach, Florida on Friday, September 5th and ends in Tacoma, Washington on Sunday, September 21st.  On Tuesday, September 9th the Cannonball riders will begin the day in Clarksville, Tennessee and stay that night here in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

To celebrate the Motorcycle Cannonball Run's time in Cape Girardeau, we are throwing them a Welcome Party, and you're invited too!   Here's how you can enjoy this unique event:

  • 4 p.m.: Motorcycle Cannonball riders will begin to arrive in Cape Girardeau. Riders will proceed from the Bill Emerson Memorial Bridge, turning right onto Fountain Street, turning right onto William Street and left onto Spanish Street where the Day 5 Finish Line is located. Commentary about the bikes and riders will be broadcasted as they cross the finish line on South Spanish Street near Merriwether.
  • 5 p.m.:  Stroll the free display of rally bikes along with local vintage and contemporary cycles and sponsor exhibits on South Spanish Street from Themis south to Merriwether.  A sound system and vendors will round out the fun!
  • 6:45 p.m.:  Cheer the Cannonball Run riders as they depart downtown Cape Girardeau in an impressive parade of nostalgia from North Spanish to Broadway to Kingshighway to William.
Park at Isle Casino Cape Girardeau and enjoy a free shuttle and free parking on Tuesday, September 9 from 4 - 9 p.m.!

Here's the route information:

Coming from Isle Casino Cape Girardeau, the shuttles will take a left at the intersection of Main and Broadway. Turning right on Water St, they’ll proceed past Hutson’s pavilion down to Merriwether. Making a right on Merriwether, they’ll stop at the intersection of Spanish and Merriwether at the pick-up/drop-off point. Continuing west on Merriwether, shuttle will turn right on Lorimer heading back to Broadway. Turning right on Broadway will get the shuttle back to Main and a left back to Isle Casino Cape Girardeau.
