5 Wineries to Visit this Spring in Southeast Missouri

Spring has arrived, and what better way to celebrate the warmer weather and sunny skies than at a winery around Cape Girardeau!  Here are five wineries to check out and some of my favorite things at each. 1. Apple Creek Winery & Vineyard It's tough to beat the view at Apple Creek Winery & Vineyard, about 20 minutes northwest of Cape Girardeau.  Decks and picnic tables (complete with buckets to ice down your chardonnay handy) overlook meandering Apple Creek.  Kiddos play in the shallow waters while their grown-ups ke... Cape Girardeau Springtime Bucket List

The snow has melted, it's lighter out past 6 p.m., and Spring officially begins today!  This is my favorite season, and here's what I am looking forward to crossing off my Springtime Bucket List in Cape Girardeau in the next couple of months: 1. Last Friday after work, my co-workers and I headed to the downtown Knights of Columbus Hall, paid our $9 and hopped in the buffet line for catfish hot out of the fryer, baked beans, coleslaw, hush puppies and French fries.  Table length after table length of homemade dessert... The Month Ahead in Cape Girardeau: March 2015

Spring is slated to arrive on March 20th!  Let's hope that "in like a lion, out like a lamb" thing is the real deal, because the "lion" part was the truth.  Here's what is cooking in Cape Girardeau during the month of March.   Local Eats The Noon Optimist Club is hosting their annual Chili Day on Wednesday, March 4, and with (hopefully!) one last gasp of winter weather forecasted for this week, it's the perfect time for a hot bowl of chili!   Don't miss the 77th Annual Lion's Club Pancake Day Wednesday, March 11th a...
