Best BBQ in Town

“If summer had one defining scent, it’d definitely be the smell of barbecue,” said Food Network host Katie Lee.

We agree! But never fear, if backyard grilling isn’t your thing or if you want to take a break and dine in the air-conditioned indoors, Cape Girardeau has some mouth-watering BBQ options.

Check out Bandana’s BBQ and Dexter BBQ in midtown, Pilot House to the north of town or Mary Jane Bourbon + Smokehouse and Port Cape downtown. Each of these eateries is sure to provide the best in smoked ribs, chicken or pork, along with all the traditional BBQ sides like potato salad, baked beans and slaw!

While there, be sure to feast on some of the food and drinks these places are famous for! Like the sour cream and cheese Belaire potatoes at Port Cape, the Stag beer with a pickle spear at Pilot House or giant Brontosaurus Beef Rib from Mary Jane’s.

Remember, you can always order takeout from these restaurants and enjoy it in the comfort of your own home or backyard!

Enjoy some summer BBQ and be sure to view the VisitCape Dining Guide for more restaurant inspiration!
