Fall is on its way, and pumpkin-related everything is popping up everywhere! Satisfy your craving for all things pumpkin with this handy list of all things pumpkin in Cape Girardeau.

Getting into any seasonal spirit starts in the home with decorating, and downtown Cape Girardeau has some awesome finds for pumpkin decor. Annie-Em’s at Home carries a wide variety of modern-chic pumpkin accessories, with everything from centerpieces, to door wreaths, to table cloths.  For those that are looking for vintage or wacky styles, Annie Laurie’s and Pastimes Antiques already have their collections of pumpkin finds ready for the picking.

While you’re in the downtown area, grab a delicious snack after all that shopping. Socials Cafe has a great pumpkin crumb muffin for breakfast, while Dynamite Coffee will keep you warm with their Pumpkin Carver hot chocolate. For richer pumpkin flavors, My Daddy’s Cheesecake has decadent pumpkin cheesecake to purchase by the slice or entire cake, and a pumpkin poke cake. If you don’t mind a cold treat during colder weather, Andy’s Frozen Custard will have you looking forward to the Pumpkin Pie Concrete, arriving in just a few weeks.

Craft beer fans can also satisfy their pumpkin fix at the Broadway Biergarten with eight uniquely-flavored pumpkin ales, stouts, and ciders. Some of these beers are not found in local stores, so they are definitely worth trying while they are around.

Pumpkin-related goodies can be found for the dog lovers of Cape Girardeau, as well. You can bring in your pup to Mississippi Mutts for fun pumpkin doggie cookies, toys, and patterned bandannas.

Artistic, family fun for anyone can be found at Creative Ewe. Kids can select pre-made ceramic pumpkin figurines and mugs, choose paint colors, and let their creativity do the rest.

This pumpkin roundup list wouldn’t be complete without finding where to get some locally grown pumpkins. The Cape Riverfront Market and the Cape Farmer’s Market will have a great selection of locally grown pumpkins for cooking or outdoor decoration. Lazy L Safari Park has a pumpkin patch as part of their Fall Full of Fun, running through November 2.  To get a real pumpkin picking experience, Begg’s Family Farm in Benton is a 20 minute drive south for an afternoon of searching for the perfect carving pumpkin just in time for Halloween.
