A Weekend of Arts and Crafts Shows in Cape Girardeau

Mark your calendars and gather your girlfriends for November 17th, 18th and 19th, 2017 in Cape Girardeau, when three different arts & crafts shows fill venues across our river city with holiday cheer and gifts! Here’s your print-and-shop guide to all of the craft shows and local boutiques hosting holiday open houses this weekend.

Stop by the 22nd Annual Crafts, Gifts and Collectibles Show first thing Friday evening – this is the only craft show that opens on Friday! Here you’ll find over 200 vendors at Notre Dame Regional High School Friday November 17th from 5 – 9 p.m., Saturday November 18th from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Sunday November 19th from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Admission is only $1.

There’s way more than one day’s worth of shopping happening, so book a place to stay; a vacation rental downtown would be fun, or a hotel that takes care of everything so you can focus on the mission at hand-shopping!

Saturday morning, grab breakfast and wear your comfiest shopping shoes and get ready for the 47th Annual Christmas Arts and Crafts Extravaganza! This show is run by the Arts Council of Southeast Missouri, and organizers carefully curate vendors to ensure a high quality shopping experience with artisans and crafters from all over the Midwest. Over 300 vendors fill two of the largest venues in Cape Girardeau – the Show Me Center and the Osage Centre – with unique handmade items that will delight recipients on Christmas morning! Entry to this show is $5 which covers you for both locations both Saturday and Sunday. Doors are open Saturday, November 18th from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Sunday, November 19th from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Bring some cash for the kettle corn vendors outside the front doors – yum.

The Arena Building and nearby 4H building host the River Valley Craft Club Craft Fair, with hundreds of vendors ready to help you fill those Christmas stockings you’ve hung by the chimney with care.

Once you’ve hit the craft shows, head to historic downtown Cape Girardeau and duck into locally owned shops offering one-of-a-kind pieces. Many boutiques are hosting holiday open houses this weekend! Treat yourself after all of that holiday shopping for others at Stash, offering thoughtfully selected women’s apparel, Atelier, a tiny shop filled with tons of handy things you didn’t know you needed or Pastimes Antiques, where you’ll find incredible vintage clothing. Annie-Em’s at Home is a beautifully decorated shop where you can stock up on Frasier Fir scents and everything you need for your holiday table.

Kick back with an ice cream cone at Creme & Cone or Sugar Chic Creamery, or warm up with a cup of locally roasted coffee at Dynamite. Hungry? Here’s a list of restaurants broken out by what you’re hungry for!

Just up Broadway, the Indie House and Catapult have locally produced gifts for sale, and on your way out of town, Wish is Cape Girardeau’s newest women’s clothing boutique offering gorgeous Pendleton woolen pieces and more. Get a full listing of locally owned shops in Cape Girardeau here.
