The calendar says February, but the weather forecast says Spring!  Here are four ways to soak up this unseasonably warm weather while it lasts….

Downtown Stroll

Grab a cup of coffee (Dynamite and Cup N’ Cork both have great cups of Joe) and meander around historic downtown Cape Girardeau under sunny blue skies.  Pop in and out of shops that look interesting, and kick back on the riverfront and watch a barge head up or downriver.  Hungry?  Grab lunch on one of the outdoor patios – Bella Italia, Cape’s Cream of the Crust, Cup N’ Cork, Social’s, Dynamite Coffee, Minglewood and Katy O’Ferrell’s all offer outdoor dining.  

Winery Weather

Those outdoor decks overlooking the grapevines are calling your name!  Soak up some sun at one of the wineries around Cape Girardeau; get the full listing here.  

Capaha Park

The new playground at Capaha Park just begs to be explored, and with the nicer weather your kiddos can really enjoy it!  While you’re there, feed the ducks at the lagoon (they love oats, birdseed, frozen peas or corn and chopped vegetable peelings) or play a round (or 2!) of disc golf on the 9 hole course.

Hike & Bike

Air up those tires or dust off your hiking shoes and set out on a trail; winter’s bare trees have their own appeal, and you might see wildlife you aren’t used to seeing the rest of the year!  Get the run down on Cape Girardeau’s trails here.
