Regina Carpenter's diverse repertoire of stories are "warm and magnetic, with lessons that are never far from the surface," while Jim May "tells stories in the fine tradition of Mark Twain and Will Rogers." Buy tickets here.
Make a weekend out of the storytelling event! On Saturday May 18th, KFVS is putting on their annual 5/10K races as well as a 1 mile fun run. The Glenn House is hosting a Plein Aire Art event on Saturday and Sunday, May 18th and 19th as well as a wine tasting on the 18th. Crisp Museum, Fort D, Old St. Vincent's, the Red House Interpretive Center, the Glenn House and the River Heritage Museum will all be open for tours as well. Need a place to stay? Willy Claflin performing “Mrs. Satan for President: The Incredible Saga of Victoria Claflin Woodhull”: In his latest one man show, Willy brings to life an incredible saga from American history. With equal parts farce, tragedy, and vintage melodrama he tells the tale of the first woman to run for president. Her platform of free love and equal rights for women shocked the nation – surely this was the work of the devil himself.
An Evening of Storytelling events take place on Friday evenings at 7 p.m., and tickets go on sale about a month prior to each event. Tickets are very reasonably priced at $12 for adults and $5 for children 14 and under.
