Tower Rock Vineyard and Winery takes its name from the imposing limestone island in the Mississippi River about 2 miles to the east of the vineyard.  Tower Rock's white wine grapes Traminette, Seyval, Vidal and Vignoles and the red wine grape Cynthiana are all cultivated on the property.  West End Tavern, Harold's Place, East Perry Pub and Mississippi Mud are all places of interest in this area.

The Hemman family produces “wine for the common folks.”  Their selection of fruit wines is extensive, and the tasting room is located in a 150 year old general store.   The Old Fashioned Christmas walk is lovely.  The Saxon Lutheran Memorial, a log cabin village, is nearby the winery, and the Luthern Heritage Museum in Altenburg is also close.  Nearby restaurants of interest are West End, East Perry Pub, Mississippi Mud Saloon and Terry's Diner.  Ron's Butcher Shop offers homemade sausages and fresh meat.
