Cape Girardeau Conservation Nature Center
Discover nature in an all new way at the Cape Girardeau Conservation Nature Center. The nature center features a 160-seat auditorium, three classrooms, hands-on exhibits for all ages, a scientific research laboratory, freshwater aquariums, and an indoor wildlife viewing area. There's a wonderful gift shop and helpful staff open up a whole new world.
The Nature Center offers acres of conservation fun, and best of all--it's free for all visitors!
After exploring the exhibits inside, exit the front door and you'll find yourself just steps from the White Oak Trace trail system, featuring two miles of nature trails that boast rolling river hills, deep hollows, and ravines covered with prominent stands of poplar and oak. If you look closely you just might see a hummingbird or butterfly! See all of this and more in the Conservation Nature Center's photo gallery.
The Cape Girardeau Conservation Nature Center consistently offers outstanding programming for a wide variety of ages. Be sure to check out VisitCape's calendar to see what's coming up! Programs range from eagle watching to organized hikes to candle making to bow making.
